Map Challenge Distances and Scaling
We scale all map distances to fit the time frame and daily step goal that is chosen for a challenge. No challenge is the true distance. We do this because the real distance to travel the world or anywhere larger than a city or small county would equal a high step goal and that would likely exceed the time frame of a normal challenge.
Example: The 7 Natural Wonders of the World map has a true distance of 70,934,406 Steps. With an 8 week challenge (56 days) this would mean that a member would have to average 1,266,686 steps each day to complete the route and visit all milestones. That's unrealistic, and so we do not use a map's true distance.
