What's Your Goal?

We understand that there is no “one-size-fits-all” for wellness. Our platform is highly customizable to meet your organization's unique needs and goals - from easily adjusted feature settings and communication strategies to challenge themes.

Check out the sections below to find engagement strategies tailored to your goals.

Promote Unity and Social Interaction

Your wellness program gives your program participants the space and opportunity for self-improvement, as well as a platform that promotes social interaction and shared motivation.

Here are some things you can do to get your participants talking:

  • Encourage participants to share their “Healthy Selfies”– a photo of themselves trying a new food or activity.
  • Ask participants to share their best wellness tips, health jokes, or healthy fun facts as journal entries or challenge discussion board comments.
  • Choose incentives that are based around social interaction – check out these guides for more ideas.

Connect Global or Remote Participants

Your wellness program creates opportunities for participants to connect from all over the country and worldwide. Virtual challenges create camaraderie without needing people to be in the same physical space.

Here are some suggestions for running a wellness program for a spread-out group of participants:

  • Organize participants based on location/department and promote a team competition.
  • Create a custom map to give your challenge a personal touch that shows the global scale of your organization.
  • Consider turning on the Language Translator option to allow participants to view the platform in their preferred language.

Promote Overall Wellness

Your wellness program tracks more than just steps! Inspire participants to take a look at their overall holistic wellness goals.

Here are some ways you can promote a culture of wellness at your organization:

  • Incentivize based on participation rather than the highest step count to appeal to participants of all activity levels. Look at ideas here!
  • Encourage wellness metric tracking (i.e. mood, sleep, hydration) or run a wellness challenge to focus on wellness metrics beyond step counts.
  • Educate and inspire. Post questions that include links to articles that teach participants about a wellness topic. Share gratitude questions to prompt mindful reflection.

Increase Participation

Wellness initiatives are only effective when your users participate. Your program should actively help participants engage and encourage them to stay motivated throughout a wellness challenge and beyond.

Here are tips to increase your participation:

  • Lower the step goal and communicate that members don’t need to place 1st to ‘win.’ Set a goal that most participants can achieve and use the random drawing system to select a winner.
  • Give those with the highest step count something to do, such as motivate others. Ask for testimonials and wellness tips from your participants.
  • Try a team-based challenge, which often help participants feel more accountable when they know their efforts will affect the team’s progress.
  • Try to raise money for a cause. Sometimes it is easier to work for somebody else than for yourself!
  • Ask for help – you don’t have to run the program alone. Promote other members to admins to help lighten your workload. Ask your Customer Success Manager for help in strategizing, learning best practices, and answering questions.

Tips for Success

Communicate with your participants. Admins who send out regular communications throughout a challenge see higher engagement and retention.

Awarding members for their participation can increase participation in your program! To encourage honesty and lower frustrations, keep prizes small but desirable.

Finally, remember to have fun!
